21-Year-Old Man Dies From Accident Injuries
Omaha.com reports that a young man died from injuries he sustained in a serious Omaha car crash, during which he crashed his car into a utility pole. Officials say he sustained serious facial and head injuries, but police did not initially consider them to be life threatening. Emergency workers took the man to the nearby Nebraska Medical Center, and he died later that evening from injury complications.
The crash happened in the early hours of the morning, when the car left the roadway on a sharp curve. It hit a ditch alongside the road and then collided with a wooden utility pole. The vehicle rolled before coming to a stop.
The driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and speeding at the time. He faces felony charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Man Dies After Two-Car Crash
Omaha.com reports that a 28-year-old man died in a car crash after he drove into the path of an SUV travelling in the opposite direction. Omaha police say the man was driving west on Maple Street when he crossed the center line and into the path of a Jeep driving east.
The 28-year-old sustained serious injuries, and emergency workers transported him to a nearby hospital. He died en-route to the hospital.
Police say he was the only person in the vehicle at the time, and he was not wearing a seatbelt. They also believe that the man may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the Immanuel Medical Center. He was also not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
