Crash Alert: Man, 33, killed in motorcycle collision in South Omaha
SOUTH OMAHA, NE – A 33-year-old male motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a BMW sedan in South Omaha last Thursday, July 17.
According to KETV, the collision happened around 11 p.m. near John F. Kennedy Expressway and O Street. The motorcyclist, operating a 2006 Victory Vegas motorcycle, had crashed into the 2011 BMW sedan while traveling north.
The impact caused the motorcyclist, who wore a helmet, to be thrown from his bike. EMS crews rushed the motorcyclist to a hospital where he later died. He has since been identified as Jose Wedergren from Fremont.
The BMW driver and passenger were uninjured.
Omaha police said speed is being looked at as a potential contributing factor. Officers did not specify whether it was Wedergren or the BMW driver who was traveling at a high rate.
