Crash Alert: Hit-and-run driver collides with motorcyclist near Sawyer Snell Park
LINCOLN, NE – According to KOLN, a hit-and-run driver struck a motorcyclist at W South St and S 1st St on Saturday.
Daren Gillespie, 48, allegedly hit a 19-year-old riding a small motorcycle around 10:30 p.m.
Rescue crews transported the victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told officers that Gillespie went to a spot near 40th St and Old Cheney Rd following the collision.
Authorities located Gillespie and arrested him. They charged Gillespie with leaving the scene of an injury accident, DUI, and careless driving.
