Crash alert: Victim of fatal Omaha car accident identified as newspaper carrier

OMAHA, NE – The victim of a fatal car accident in Omaha last week has now been identified, according to the Omaha World-Herald.

This is an update to a previous story.

The woman killed was 37-year-old Jamie Novak of Prague, Nebraska, authorities said. She was a passenger in a Buick LeSabre driven by her fiance Jacob Slayden. Both of them were newspaper carriers for the Omaha World-Herald.

The accident took place Tuesday morning, when the Buick was involved in a collision with a Toyota Camry at Blondo Street and 120th Street at about 3:20 a.m.  Novak was pronounced dead at the scene, while Slayden was treated and released at a local hospital. The Toyota driver was also hospitalized but no details were released on the condition of the person, who was not identified.

Novak and Slayden were on their way to work at the time of the crash.
