Crash alert: Man arrested following crash that killed 2 in Adams County

HASTINGS, NE – A man is under arrest following a Dec. 12 crash that killed two people in Adams County, according to KSNB.

The incident occurred at the intersection of 12th Street and Blaine Avenue east of Hastings. Authorities said a vehicle headed north on Blaine Avenue struck another vehicle going eastbound on 12th.  Two people in the second vehicle sustained fatal injuries. One of them was a 16-year-old girl from Superior, the Adams County Sheriff’s office said.  Two other passengers from that vehicle and a person in the first vehicle were taken to Mary Lanning Healthcare for treatment.

The man arrested in connection with the crash was 32-year-old Anthony Pingel of Hastings, who was released on bond and is due back in court on Jan. 6.
