Crash Alert: Driver crashes after falling asleep at the wheel in Silver Creek
SILVER CREEK, NE – A driver was hurt when they fell asleep at the wheel and hit a railroad crossing near US 30 and Z Rd on Saturday, according to KOLN.
A Ford Escape driver was traveling south on US 30 towards the railroad crossing when they fell asleep and collided with the railroad crossing gate.
The driver was mildly injured in the collision. It is unclear if they went to the hospital.
The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. They do not believe impairment was a factor in the collision.
