OMAHA, NE – Authorities said two toddlers were injured in a crash in north Omaha that followed a pursuit by law enforcement authorities, reports WOWT.
The incident began Friday morning when the Nebraska State Patrol tried to pull over a car that had expired license plates. The NSP said the driver involved, 34-year-old Martel Toles of Council Bluffs, did not pull over for the traffic stop. He went through a red light and crashed into a pickup truck in the area of 30th Street and Ames Street at about 11 a.m.
The two 2-year-olds who were in the car with him were hospitalized. Their injuries did not appear to be serious, authorities said. The pickup driver was not seriously injured.
Toles was taken into custody and is expected to face multiple charges for the incident.
