Crash Alert: 1 killed, 2 injured in crash at 72nd & Military Ave in Omaha

OMAHA, NB – According to KMTV3 News, one person was killed and two others were injured in an accident in Omaha on Thursday night.

The crash took place shortly before 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of 72nd Street and Military Avenue. Authorities say a driver of a 2010 Ford Ranger was traveling north on 72nd and turning left onto Military when the vehicle was struck by a 2018 Chevy Camaro heading southbound. The Chevy spun out in the impact, striking a nearby power pole.

The driver of the Chevy and another occupant sustained serious injuries in the crash. The driver was found to not be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, and later died from his injuries. The driver of the Ford sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Nebraska Medicine for treatment.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
