Crash Alert: Alleged impaired driver collides with pedestrian in southeast Lincoln
LINCOLN, NE – A suspected drunk driver hit a male pedestrian near South 53rd Street and Normal Boulevard early Wednesday morning.
A witness was heading east on Normal Boulevard when she spotted a bloodied man on the ground. She contacted first responders.
The victim told officers he was walking home when he was hit by a driver around 3 a.m.
First responders transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition.
Officers found the driver of a Toyota Tacoma with damage to its front end parked near the accident. The driver informed officers he had hit a person near South 56th Street and Normal Boulevard.
The driver blew a .202 BAC at the scene.
Officers have not cited or charged the driver at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
