CHAPMAN, NE – Authorities said two vehicles collided in Merrick County Wednesday morning, killing both drivers.
According to KSNB, the accident occurred in the vicinity of Highway 30 and F Road near Merrick at about 5:25 a.m.
Investigators determined that 29-year-old Zachery Shultz of Chapman was driving an SUV eastbound when he crossed over the center line and crashed into a sedan headed west.
Shultz and the other driver, 50-year-old Scott Ellis of Marquette, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt. No one else was inside either vehicle.
