Crash Alert: Woman killed, truck driver arrested following crash in SW Sidney
SIDNEY, NE – According to WOWT, a woman died when a semi-truck driver collided with a sedan near NE-17J Link and Old Post Rd Friday.
Gurjeet Singh, 25, was driving a semi-truck north on NE-17J Link when he ran a red light and collided with the passenger side of Nissan Maxima around 4:40 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the Nissan’s driver Lori Wiens, 48, dead at the scene and transported the two other occupants to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities arrested and charged Singh with motor vehicle homicide and willful reckless driving.
